Prove My Worth

Hi creative people. Linda here and today I have an art journal spread to share with you. I was inspired by the bold colors and the many lady figures in Gustav Klimt paintings.

First, I used a pencil and stencil to draw all the geometric shapes. Then I drew the eyes and face. To add some bold colors, I used various colors of metallic paint. The sequins were added to the drawing with gel medium.

Finally I added some text found on Pinterest. I thought it was perfect for this page.

Epic Sparkle

Hi Linda here. I’ve been playing with some items full of color and glamour. I took this fab image of one of my good creative friends and just had to make her a wallhanging.

I’ve used a 12×12″ sheets of b-flute cardboard and some yellow cardboard. I added sequins to really make the wallhanging sparkle. It is meant to hang on the wall, but it even sends sparkles outside in the flowerbed. :)

Wishing you all a great summer!

Love, ATC Style

Hi there creative people, Linda here. Today I want to spread some glamour and color all over your screen! I’ve been playing with some yummy new stuff from the Gauche Alchemy shop: Sequin Color Sets and let me tell you, they bring the glamour needed on any project!

I decided to make 3 ATCs with the theme LOVE, just because I loved doing them. I made a background with white gesso and 3 different types of punchinella: 20mm 1yard blackpvc sunburst 4 x 12 and the Punchinella Variety pack on black cardstock.

I used a palette knife to spread the gesso over the punchinella mask, this way you get an even layer of gesso. When the gesso was dry I added some mist in chosen colors. When this was dry I  made hearts on the background with glossy accent glue.

On top of the glue I added small sequins from the Sequin Color Setsbluesilver and pink.

Finally, I added a sentiment on each ATC. Now they are ready to be swapped with someone! If you are interested in swapping an ATC with me, please leave a comment here and I can swap with 3 people, one ATC each. :)

Thank you for looking and I hope this inspired you to play with colors, glamour and of course maybe create an ATC or two!

Solitary Art Journaling

Hi there Gauche peeps! Lori here and I decided to go short, sweet, and simple for this month’s art journal page. I’ve been in such a creative slump recently. So, I started with my Pinterest boards and searched for a quote that spoke to me. I love this one by Bell Hooks:

“Knowing how to be solitary is central to the art of loving. When we can be alone, we can be with others without using them as a means of escape.”

I grabbed a couple of elements from my Curious Curio kit and my brand spanking new Silver Sequin color set. I recently picked up some of Dina Wakley’s new heavy body acrylic paint, which is so scrumptious I want to spread it on my toast (but I didn’t, sillies).

I wanted to make the quote the most important thing on this page and kept it super simple. Sometimes, a few new supplies and a change in the norm is just the ticket!

Now, you go get messy!
