Good Morning!  Marilyn here with a great layout from Alchemist Misty.  She combines washi, punchinella, and some of our mixed media color kits with stunning results.  So without further ado or to-do, here’s Misty.
For this layout I originally started gluing down book pages from the Acme Kit over a piece of cardstock hoping to get a black and white look for the entire page.  However, I ended up getting the mist a little too dark and the book pages were no longer visible.
Mixed Media Punchinella Layout
I couldn’t wait to try out the new large 30mm black punchinella…and I love it!  I made a border on the top and bottom of the page.
Mixed Media Color Kits Layout
For the middle of the page, I used several of the mixed-media color kits (scarlet fever, wedding night, and black out), consisting of buttons, metal, sequins and other bits and bobs and covered them in gesso, then misted over them.
Mixed Media Washi Layout
Finally, I attached the picture with some green polka dot washi and I was done!
Mixed Media Beautiful Layout
I couldn’t resist showing you Misty’s awesome layout a second time!  She always does such a wonderful job layering her elements.
Thank you Misty!  The lime green washi and black punchinella work so well together.  Really draws your eye to the focal point of your layout.
Until later……………

Be Open and Try

Hello, Hello! Ashli here with the last of my projects from the ACME kit.

Remember this purple paper that posed a bit of a challenge for me?

Perhaps it should be a base for a tag? Oh yes, look at how pretty that is all Gessoed up with some of the Asian book paper:

A bit of misty sprinkling is a nice touch too! And, since I have no patience for drying time, they run together… but, I like it!

And for an unexpected look, when I held this up for another perspective, I noticed that it has a wonderful transparent quality. Love that!

I think it shall be my theme.

Be open:

And the rusty key from the kit works nicely with that! Oh, it’s like I planned it or something :)

This tag sums up my experience with this kit. It had lots of unexpected materials. In fact, most of the things included were things I would not normally choose to scrap with. But, that is the best part about a kit club isn’t it? You are surprised. You don’t have to think about putting things together. You are challenged. And, you try…

It’s always good to try new things!

To be open…

That is “the key.”  To keeping that creative mojo going!

I have so enjoyed keeping an open mind this month as I scrapped my heart out with the ACME kit. Thank you for coming on this journey with me! I encourage you to be open and try. Link up your creative experiments with August’s Layout Love Linky over at my blog and you have a chance to win this tag!

With very few additions from my stash, I was able to get 7 layouts and one tag from this kit. I even have things left over. How awesome is that?

Thanks for reading and allowing me to Guest Design for you at Gauche!

Panda Lunch

Oooh, we’ve got to stop meeting like this! But really, folks, with our Guest Designer Ashli turning in such fabulous layouts, I couldn’t NOT share them!

Hi there! Ashli back again with the last of my layouts from the ACME kit. I suppose it is a bit obvious to use the Asian book paper with a paper from Basic Grey’s Konnichiwa collection…

…to scrap a Panda. But, I just couldn’t resist!

Seriously, the book papers were perfect to run through my Sizzix and make flowers to embellish with. Of course, the gorgeous lace doesn’t hurt either!

I have had more fun scrapping with these non-traditional materials! I’m not finished just yet though… See you next time with one more project!

These layouts have been amazing, Ashli! I’ve so got the itch to pull out some photos and do some scrapping myself!

For the Birds

Hi there, gang! Scraps, here, sneaking in a day early to share one of the many fabulous things our Guest Designer Ashli created from the ACME kit. Wanna see? I bet you do!

What’s a girl to do when she gets a mixed media kit of goodness with a feather, a rattan piece of trim, a bottle cap, a roll of washi tape with bird cages on it, an old Kodak slide, gold sequins and punchinella?

She scraps a page about birds, of course!

Hi!  Ashli back again to show you another layout made from the amazing ACME kit. Lots of goodies were combined on this layout to make my own embellishment cluster. In fact, very few items were pulled from my stash for this one!

And after some more fringe was cut from a decorative napkin in the kit, it all found it’s way onto a piece of the Ouchless Cardboard:

Oodles of texture and fun for this layout about the birds we saw during a recent trip to the zoo. What’s next in the bag of tricks from this kit? I’ll share soon….

I’m sure I’m not alone when I say I can hardly wait!

Until next time,
