Perhaps you are new to mixed media…lured in from the scrapbooking or card making world. Or perhaps you are a seasoned expert on mixed media techniques. Well, for the remainder of the year, our Alchemists are going to be sharing their favorite tips, tricks and techniques for creating mixed media art.

Feeling a Little Wordy

AW

A new month means a new creative focus here at Gauche Alchemy! For September, we will be exploring how words manifest themselves in our artwork. That includes hand lettering, journaling, stencils, typography…along with all the meaning that words hold. Did you have a guiding word or focus for this year? How has it shown up in your art making? Do you hide journaling or personal scribbles under your layers of collage?

Let’s talk about it and share! Join us at Gauche Alchemy Studios to be a part of the conversation.

Never Stop Exploring

She has such a great way of layering, and the addition of the photos really tell a story.

This mixed media canvas by Alchemist Rebecca is full of whimsy; I think it perfectly displays her love of travel and adventure with family and friends. I mean, how can you NOT be happy with those colors? And the frame!!

“She was free in her wildness. She was a wanderess, a drop of free water. She belonged to no man and to no city” ~ Roman Payne
