Blue Streak

Alchemist Marilyn here with another page from my Color Art Journal. Today, I’m focusing on the color blue, so I whipped out my Blue Streak Mixed Media Color Kit and started gluing.

Since I’m using a Sesame Street board book, I needed to lay down a layer of something to hide all the bright colors. I used a couple of book pages from the Acme Kit as my background, them gave them a thin coat of gesso. Next, I ran some Vintage Air Mail washi tape down the center and crossed over this with some 6mm punchinella.

Then, I grabbed my Blue Streak Color Kit and started laying everything out. An airplane here, an alien there (fave!), some fringe, a flash card, some odds & ends, some stenciling, and Voila! a journal page. I used lots of mists (Dylusions Funky Fuscia & Dirty Martini and Art Anthology Fern Leaf Colorations), stencils (TCW Mini Life Shapes & Mini Cityscape and Prima Wood Grain), stamps (Stampers Anonymous City Central & Heart, a script stamp, and a fern stamp), some tinted modeling paste and a little bit of Sand Texture Gel.

This is getting to be addictive. I love the entire process, from start to finish. The layering, the stenciling, the mists, the gluing, the inking. YUM! Now let’s see what you can do!

Until later……
