One Layout to Rule Them All

Hi everyone! Maggi here with an awesome layout from Alchemist Peg!

My third son is in year six this year so this was his last ever book week parade, they don’t do them in High School :-( He and his mates went as characters from Lord of The Rings so the page had to be suitably dirty and old to get the right feeling. This is how it came together…

I started with a vintage magazine page leftover from the Money Shot Kit, a glue stick and a piece of cardstock of a light grey colour.

After sticking a furry fabric swatch (also from the Money Shot Kit) to the middle of my background (for a photo mat) I got a bit slap happy with the glue stick and a piece of star punchinella creating some raised starry bits of glue over parts of my background. I heat-set the glue.

I then stuck the punchinella across the bottom of the fabric mat and got really messy with my mists. I held the page up sideways and misted heavily along the left edge so it would run down across the page. I heat gunned it to dry it a little and managed to curl the edge of the punchiella at the same time – Happy Accident :-)

The top left corner of the page needed something so I used up my last remaining piece of trim from my Money Shot Kit and misted again to blend it in. With all the moisture and heat the punchinella started to lift off so I decided to stitch it in place with a kind of free-style frame and a couple of corners.

t still needed something… a mist pattern. I lay my TCW template on my mat, misted over it, then brayered my background on top..

So here’s the finished page with the addition of some great 100 Proof Press skully and circle stamps.

The boys LOVE it so I musta done something right :-)
