A Sense of Play
Happy Friday! Scraps, here, with a fun-loving layout courtesy of Alchemist Peg.
If you’ve every wanted to do something a bit different with lace, take a page from Peg’s playbook and this gorgeous, colorful, fun layout about her friend.

Peg: This bright fun page was made to reflect the relationship I have with this gorgeous friend of mine.
I have been wanting to create a lace background with the GA Lace Ribbon Variety Pack because there was so much in it, no more scrimping with tiny samples. I took
random colours and stitched them to my cardstock. I was initially concerned at them clashing but I love how it turned out. The blue paper flowers are cut from a paper napkin and the butterflies are cut from a vintage magazine cover which came in the fabulous Mile High mixed media kit.

That’s a great photo and I especially love the way the butterflies and the red lace pick up and carry the color of her scarf throughout the layout. Like Peg, I think the fear that so many different colors would clash would keep me from trying this–but Peg is obviously braver than I am. And that stitching around the perimeter of the lace layers just really brings everything in together.
Is anyone else inspired to try something different?
Happy Crafting!
